Missouri American Water Rate Changes

Following an eight-month review of Missouri American Water's rate increase request, the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) has approved rate changes in all Missouri American Water operating districts.  The rate changes vary slightly by district, based primarily on the water system investments that the company has made in each community.  The company invested more than $161.3 million in water and wastewater system improvements across the state from June 2007 to September 2008.  These ongoing investments in improvements to local water systems, plus increases in operating costs, are key drivers behind the rate changes.
